Judge Dredd is the longest-running character to feature in the UK weekly anthology comic 2000AD.  Created by writer John Wagner and artist Carlos Esquerra, law enforcement and judicial officer Judge Joseph Dredd first appeared in the second issue of 2000AD in March 1977.  The character has gone on to appear in a number of film and video game adaptations.  Entertainment media website IGN has listed Dredd 35th in the top 100 comic book heroes of all time.  In 2012, Judge Dredd was commemorated in series of postage stamps issued by the Royal Mail.  The character now features on a 500 piece jigsaw puzzle printed on high quality board.
