As a power trio (a group consisting of one electric guitarist, one bass player and one drummer) they released just one album, Around the Next Dream. It was released through Virgin Records in 1994 and was met with generally positive reviews from music critics. Moore wrote most of the material, to which Bruce and Baker contributed. Baker is also featured on the album cover. The album reached the top 10 in the UK Albums Chart, and the band went on a short UK tour (including some major rock festivals) in support of the release, but broke up shortly after. The album also features follow-up singles “Give Me Peace on Earth” and “Lonely Tears in Chinatown” as well as fan-favourite “Angels sing in New York City”. In the Middle of Nowhere entered the No. 1 position in Germany on 1 December 1986. It is the immediate predecessor to Moontan, and is as strong an example of Golden Earring’s particular blend of hard rocking Euro-prog as you are likely to hear. The group blurs the strict lines and weaves elements of each genre into a distinctive style that gives the songs their unique flavor. Most famous album tracks are “Buddy Joe” and “From Heaven from Hell”. The rock band Golden Earring is one of the world’s best-known Dutch bands. During the 70’s they even made it to the Billboard charts by releasing “Radar Love”. Almost 60 years later they’re still performing and bringing their big hits to large audiences. • 180 GRAM AUDIOPHILE VINYL • INSERT • BLACK VINYL Cibo Matto was a Japanese-American band formed by Yuka Honda and Miho Hatori in New York in 1994. Their debut album Viva! La Woman is the only album to be released by them as a duo, before Sean Lennon, Timo Ellis and Duma Love joined the band. It therefore also sounds quite different from the rest of the Cibo Matto catalogue: the album is best described as a trip hop fused with pop and alternative hiphop, and its lyrical subject matter is mostly concerned with food. Two singles were released from the album: “Birthday Cake” and “Know Your Chicken”. The album was critically acclaimed by music critics, whom labeled it innovative and catchy. The package contains an insert, and is available on black vinyl.

Death in Vegas’ Richard Fearless and Tim Holmes created one of their finest records by combining synths with guitar rock and psychedelia. A taste of “My bloody Valentine” and some electro pulses are thrillingly constructed in the different parts of the album. They’re using different samples in their sounds, so you can hear classics like “Rock Around the Clock” (Bill Haley & His Comets) and “Goin’ Back” (The Byrds). Several songs on the album have appeared on film soundtracks, “Girls” is featured on the soundtrack to the 2003 film Lost in Translation and “Hands Around My Throat” is featured on the Animatrix soundtrack. The album was named after front man Steve Kilbey’s misreading of a Spanish fan’s English vocabulary notes (since ‘priest’ is translated as ‘cura’ in Spanish). It is the first record they recorded with drummer Jay Dee Daugherty, famous for his work with Patti Smith. His addition to the band brought a fresh, almost jazz-like sound to their music. The album was heavily influenced by psychedelic rock and dream pop, and features the songs “Dome”, “Ripple” and “Feel”. MORPHINE - GOOD (BLACK VINYL)

• 180 GRAM AUDIOPHILE VINYL • INSERT • BLACK VINYL Morphine is an alternative rock band formed in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1989. Their debut album Good was released in 1992. The band’s instrumentation was slightly unusual for a rock band: front man Mark Sandman’s used a two-string bass guitar played with a slide; while adding touches of guitar, piano, electronic organ, and other self-invented guitar instruments to their albums. Saxophonist Dana Colley played several types of saxophones (primarily baritone), sometimes even playing multiple saxes at once, while also playing percussion on occasion.
